Integration with the ObjAcct product requires that accounting integration is enabled and configured in the Astra Schedule installation. Additionally, the ObjAcct product is a Windows application that requires both a server and client component to be installed. Enabling the accounting integration and installing ObjAcct are optional to the Astra Schedule installation.
The ObjAcct server application requires the following:
•32 bit machine
•Windows Server 2003
•IIS 6 (required for the communication between ObjAcct and Astra Schedule)
•MS SQL Server 2005
While the ObjAcct server can be installed on the Astra Schedule application server (if it meets the above requirements), it is recommended that it be installed on a separate machine or VM for ease of installation/maintenance and optimum performance.
The ObjAcct client application will need to be installed on the machine of any user that requires access to the more advanced features of ObjAcct (The ObjAcct application is not required to send basic scheduling related accounting information to the ObjAcct database).
The Astra Schedule installation utility allows for the optional activation and configuration of the accounting integration. However, because the ObjAcct URL is a requirement for activation, the ObjAcct server installation must take place before enabling the accounting integration with Astra Schedule.
