An institution in Astra Schedule is a unique, independent component of an organization or system. Institutions in Astra Schedule may not share data or configuration settings, and may have completely independent business processes and scheduling practices. The following illustrates a sample hierarchy:

•University Institution A
•Main Campus
•Downtown Campus
•University Institution B
•Main Campus
•University Institution C
•Main Campus
Astra Schedule application licensing is based in part on the number of institutions using the application. The institution value becomes a hard data filter throughout the application database. In other words, only a single institution’s data is available while working in the application. Multiple institutions may be established depending on licensing and usage, but only one institution’s data is visible during any active session. If you are managing multiple institutions, you will be required to log in to each one independently to work with data.
Institutions are created during initial installation in order to establish the database and begin configuring the application. To edit the institution name in the system, perform the following:
1.Click on Institution from the Setup tab.
2.Click the edit icon, or click on the institution name and click Edit.
3.Edit the name of your institution.
4.Click Save.
