Certain data elements must be established before academic sections can be scheduled. These data elements determine options that are available for selection when adding and editing section records, and when configuring scheduling preferences. They include Departments, Meeting Types, Subjects, and Courses. Additionally, Custom Fields may be configured to support optional course section data that you would like to record.

 

If section data is being imported from a student information system, then subject, meeting type, course, (and instructor) data is automatically added to the Astra Schedule database as it is encountered. These elements may be manually added, edited, or deleted as well.
